Post Roar (1981) Rerelease
I came across this article about this bonkers movie from the 80s with Melanie Griffith living with a pride of lions and tigers in her house being given a limited release in April in theater and vod.

It was even more interesting to read the casualties list of the 70+ on set injuries from big cat attacks on cast and crew. My stomach cringes just watching the trailer.

There is a background interview with Tippi Hedren which this movie was dream project of hers and amazing photos of their real life pet lion they treated like a domestic cat they allowed to lounge around their house and sleep in their daughter's bed.

Ah, interesting. I remember that, when I was at school, we got free tickets from the local cinema for this film and that my 10ish-year old self really didn't like the movie. It got its zoology all mixed up, you see, and I was very particular about a correct depiction of great felines on screen.

I don't remember anything else about the film, but it's probably not worth watching if it's not memorable for a ten year old with an affinity for predatory animals.

The Japanese poster is all kind of great. And somehow it's a hit over there too.

This is very cool. I've wanted to see this for a long time. It probably won't make it up my way, but there's always DVD.
