There will be worse titles released in 2016 but mediocrity of this sort isn’t an inspired way to start the new year.

There’s not a lot here, making one suspect the first "Zoolander" would have been better left as a stand-alone cult classic.

"Gods of Egypt" is often sloppy and fails in many ways but the cheesy momentum is hard to resist.

"Allegiant" exemplifies what happens when a book or movie exists solely for the purposes of placating fans and maintaining a revenue stream.

By cramming far too much material into 114 minutes, "The Huntsman: Winter’s War" feels rushed and incomplete.

This is, in effect, a 90-minute commercial, and it’s about as entertaining as one might reasonably expect from such a thing.

Whether or not audiences pull a disappearing act, "Now You See Me 2" doesn’t bring magic back to the multiplex.

As a commercial for the game, "Warcraft" works and maybe that’s the yardstick of success against which this film should be measured.

This is a clear example of a story being thrown together to serve the special effects, not the other way around.

Follows the mandate of delivering more of the same to keep the franchise going and attempts to expand the canvas aren’t successful.
