Will likely satisfy audiences who go in with appropriately established expectations because, for what it is, the film is solidly entertaining.

The overpolished screenplay and overuse of directorial flourishes hamper the viewer’s enjoyment of what should have been a pretty straightforward caper-style crime film.

A glorious, hyperkinetic mess and, although it never quite takes flight, it at least holds the attention.

Kristin Stewart gives a strong performance as Jean Seberg but the screenplay traps her in a story that’s less interesting than it should be.

Run Time: 1:40

A stronger focus on story and tone and less reliance on the marvels of CGI might have made this latest version of "The Call of the Wild" a more fruitful experience.

Run Time: 2:05
U.S. Release Date: 2020-02-28
MPAA Rating: "R" (Violence, Profanity)
Genre: Horror/Thriller
Director: Leigh Whannell

During the movie’s second half, the narrative begins to rely too much on horror/thriller conventions. All the really good stuff happens before the 75-minute mark.

Genre: Horror/Comedy
Director: Craig Zobel
Cast: Betty Gilpin, Hilary Swank, Ike Barinholtz, Wayne Duvall, Ethan Suplee, Emma Roberts, Amy Madigan, Reed Birney

A solid throwaway B-movie that probably thinks it has more to say than it actually does but is entertaining nonetheless.

MPAA Rating: "R" (Violence, Profanity, Drugs)
Genre: Horror

Not enough to expand the movie’s appeal beyond the narrow demographic of fans representing its target audience.

Tries to do a little too much and runs too long but it’s an affable mix of nostalgia and family-friendly animated action/adventure.

More successful when focusing on the unlikely romance between its stars than the silly and underwhelming murder mystery.
