Run Time: 1:35
U.S. Release Date: 2025-05-30
MPAA Rating: "R" (Sexual Content, Profanity, Nudity)
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Director: Laura Piani
Cast: Camille Rutherford, Pablo Pauly, Charlie Anson, Liz Crowther, Alan Fairbairn

The movie wants to be thoughtful and cultured but it ends up dispersing the delightful froth that makes the best movies of the genre so spirited.

Run Time: 1:29
U.S. Release Date: 2025-01-03
MPAA Rating: "R" (Violence, Gore)
Genre: Horror
Director: Thordur Palsson
Cast: Odessa Young, Joe Cole, Lewis Gribben, Siobhan Finneran, Francis Magee, Rory McCann

Although director Thordur Palsson succeeds in developing the setting and crafting an unnerving atmosphere, the screenplay fails in several critical areas.

A movie absolutely no one in the general public was clamoring for and, although many will see it, the well-earned “unnecessary” label should stick.

Likely please the legions of "Moana" fans and is easily digestible for accompanying parents even if it falls short of being the next Disney classic.

Run Time: 2:40
U.S. Release Date: 2024-11-22
MPAA Rating: "PG"
Genre: Musical/Fantasy
Director: Jon M. Chu
Cast: Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande-Butera, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Peter Dinklage

This adaptation of the stage musical gives us eye-popping settings, big-screen expansions of Broadway numbers, and far too much stretching of an already-thin narrative.

Run Time: 1:52
U.S. Release Date: 2024-11-01
MPAA Rating: "R" (Violence, Profanity)
Genre: Thriller
Director: Hans Petter Moland
Cast: Liam Neeson, Ron Perlman, Frankie Shaw, Daniel Diemer, Yolanda Ross, Javier Molina

Possibly too generic for those with an affinity for movies about larger-than-life figures diminished by infirmity and too downbeat for those who have enjoyed the action/thriller outings of Liam Neeson.

"Here" wants to depict the everyday life of an historically anonymous person and, stripping away the distractions created by the failed artificial structure, it mostly accomplishes that goal.

Run Time: 1:35
U.S. Release Date: 2024-10-18
MPAA Rating: "R" (Violence, Profanity)
Genre: Thriller
Director: Anna Kendrick
Cast: Anna Kendrick, Daniel Zovatto, Nicolette Robinson, Tony Hale, Kathryn Gallagher, Pete Holmes, Autumn Best

The screenplay does a good job with the "Dating Games" scenes and the tense, creepy sequence that follows but it founders in establishing a wider canvas.

Run Time: 1:48
U.S. Release Date: 2024-10-18
MPAA Rating: "R" (Sexual Content, Nudity, Profanity)
Genre: Drama
Director: John Crowley
Cast: Andrew Garfield, Florence Pugh, Grace Delaney, Adam James, Lee Braithwaite

The movie occasionally tries too hard to turn on the waterworks and allows its structure to upstage the fine performances by the leads.

Despite a terrific performance by Kate Winslet , "Lee" falls into the bio-pic trap of trying to encapsulate too much of a famous life into a two-hour chunk.
