With its offbeat blend of warped humor, dramatic/horror elements, and social commentary, "Dream Scenario" may not always be comfortable but it is undeniably provocative.

It is not a bad way to spend a couple of hours, keeping in mind that this fairy tale, like most, has only a tenuous link to reality.

A far cry from the fantastic majesty of the Tolkien-based epics but has the feel of something that could spawn an enduring franchise if it catches on.

Whodunnits? are generally an awkward fit for the two-hour limitations of a theatrical movie but this is one of the better ones.

Although there is a fair amount of regurgitation of the news story, "The Dissident" offers sufficient new material to justify its existence.

Engrossing but conventional – a well-told story whose evocative setting and vivid performances combine to produce a grim and lurid tableau.

This is a work of passion and anger and it conveys points in the subtext that provoke an emotional and intellectual response.

Reasonably faithful to the source material while at the same time existing as a direct sequel to Kubrick’s adaptation.

A solid re-examination of a bygone era and genre with a strong performance of a character worthy of biopic treatment.
