"Concussion" isn’t always brilliant but it’s compelling enough that the lesser scenes are easily ignored.

Run Time: 1:58

MPAA Rating: "R" (Nudity, Sexual Content, Profanity)
Genre: Drama

Slow and dreamy but never boring - the acting is too good and the images too beguiling for that.

A solid space opera spectacle with enough nostalgia to overpower even the most hard-hearted child of the ‘70s and ‘80s but it relies a little too much on recycling old plot elements.

As a way to bridge the gap between the Thanksgiving releases and the Biggest Movie Event of 2015, it’s a solid option.

MPAA Rating: "R" (Sexual Content, Nudity)
Genre: Drama
Director: Tom Hooper
Cast: Eddie Redmayne, Alicia Vikander, Matthias Schoenaerts, Amber Heard, Ben Whishaw, Sebastian Koch

The performances, Alicia Vikander’s in particular, are where "The Danish Girl" shines.

Overplotted and at least 20 minutes too long, the film opens big, slogs through its middle act, and recovers for a rousing conclusion.

To those with even a limited exposure to Peanuts over the years, this will feel like a homecoming.

MPAA Rating: "R" (Profanity)
Genre: Drama/Comedy
Director: David Gordon Green
Cast: Sandra Bullock, Billy Bob Thornton, Anthony Mackie, Joaquim de Almeida, Ann Dowd, Scoot McNairy, Zoe Kazan

For the filmmakers, one tone-deaf mistake at the end doesn’t undo this compelling behind-the-scenes peek at how buffoons get elected and men of substance become political roadkill.

Despite several high octane action sequences, this movie feels orphaned and works considerably better when viewed as part of a greater epic than as a stand-alone production.

Run Time: 2:15
U.S. Release Date: 2015-10-16
MPAA Rating: "PG-13" (Violence, Profanity)
Genre: Thriller
Director: Steven Spielberg

Although the workmanlike production is solidly engaging, it falls short of the loftiest expectations.
