An entertaining but inconsequential animated movie with a strong "Toy Story" influence.

Exemplifies what passes for “raunchy comedy” these days: plenty of vulgarity and profanity without many accompanying laughs.

Unlike so many of the bloated, disappointing entries into the 2016 big budget sweepstakes, this is good escapist entertainment.

Cast: Ruby Barnhill, Mark Rylance, Penelope Wilton, Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader, Jermaine Clement

Unlikely to excite the imagination (or the box office) in the way many of Spielberg’s classics have.

Follows the mandate of delivering more of the same to keep the franchise going and attempts to expand the canvas aren’t successful.

This is a clear example of a story being thrown together to serve the special effects, not the other way around.

Beneath the pulsating music and strobe-lit fluorescent visuals, this is as pernicious and invidious a motion picture as one is likely to discover in a multiplex

It’s a disappointment when a film ends on a sour note if it’s the only part of the experience that doesn’t work.

Just because a movie uses the word “intelligence” doesn’t mean it has any.

"Finding Dory" is enjoyable in its own right even if its powerful sense of déjà vu keeps it from approaching the pinnacle of the Disney/Pixar collaborations.
